Spotting Burglaries

Spotting Burglaries

What do you do when you see a house being burgled? What do you do when you see your own house being bugled? You may live peacefully till you actually see a live robbery. They may have weapons, tear gas, laughing gas, sedatives, and a lot of other material to make sure that the owner does not get even inkling about the burglary.

Always keep you house insured. Once the burglar is done, it may not always be easy to nab a thief. So you need to be reimbursed by the insurance company at least. As long as you have a burglar alarm and have turned it on, be rest assured that the insurance company will reimburse you. Some companies even recommend certain products that you should install for maximum protection. Without these their offer might be null and void. You should always have a fire escape system. An escape system is needed to protect yourself not only in case of a fire but also in case of armed robbery. What if the burglars have guns and knives? You can’t just lie around there hoping that the guns are not lioad3ed. You need to run. So having a chute at a convenient location is needed.

Always be a responsible citizen n a good neighbour. If you help them, they are sure to help you too. To prevent a crime from happening to you, go to your nearest police station and talk to the officer in charge of crime protection. The moment you see anything suspicious going on in any of your neighbours’ houses, tell the police at once. Help them and you will help yourself.

Having a good security system will try to minimise at least the chances of you getting burgled. But just in case, you do get burgled, there are certain things that you should keep in mind. It all depends on your situation. Are you alone? Then it might not be wise to try and scare a robber away by making noise. You never know how many of them area there and if they are armed or not. You don’t want the converse to happen and for the burglar to actually check the source of the sound and enter the room you are in it. Always keep some sort of communication device with you. If you do not have a landline in your room, keep at least your cell phone wit you. This way you can contact someone near you for help. It is also the best way to reach he police when in a crisis. A mobile phone is always wise to have since you can use it if the burglars cut off the wires to your normal phone.

If you have just returned home from work and notice that you house has been broken into, do not ever shout. The burglars could be inside and they might escape. If the burglars are still in there, waste no time in informing the police. And the last thing to remember is to never touch anything inside. You’ll be tampering the evidence. Let the fingerprints lie.
